OUR HISTORY
The inspiration for a human resource center to serve St. Joseph, Missouri’s “Midtown” came from a group of community leaders in 1968. Bartlett Center was then known as Black Citizens for Progress. As times changed the name became too narrow of a view and was renamed Eastside Human Resource Center. Later the program expanded and the goal was to meet the needs of a 21st century social services agency and provide youth and childcare services.
The name was changed again to Bartlett Center named after a local leader in the community. The Bartlett Center has been dedicated to providing quality programs that enrich the lives of children, parents and the community since 2006 when it opened its doors in St. Joseph Missouri.
